Meta ads: what Opah reads on every ad an artist's page runs, every 72 hours

For any artist you add to Opah, Opah collects every Meta ad the artist’s own page has run since 2020 and refreshes the set every 72 hours. Each ad is kept with its format, first line and body, button, destination, start and end day, placements, Meta’s EU and UK reach where it applies, and a creative read. What the artists in a niche run is on Meta ads for musicians.

$0.99 a month for your first 3 months on Opah Core, then $19. Cancel any time. Chartmetric is $60 a month for 10 artists; Opah is $19 for 3 or $39 for 10.

Ads started per day, 113 releases by 30 artists. Starts peak on release day; the median ad starts 2 days after it; 36% start before it, and a second wave runs through day +13.Every artist tracked in Opah with a dated release, aggregated and anonymous

Measured , artists anonymised.

When the ads start, around a release

Set every ad start against the nearest release day and the rollout shows: starts peak on the day, the median start is 2 days after it, 36% come before, and a second wave runs through day 13. 4,408 ad starts around 113 releases.

That is what the dates on every ad are for. Kept and refreshed, they say how long each ad stayed up, which ones the artist kept paying for, and how the paid side of a rollout is timed, for one artist or a whole niche.

How it reads in the Niche Playbook

The same fields, read across the artists you study.

Destinations become the Spend Funnel: where the niche sends the click. The dates become the release cycle and the ads-started cadence in the Behavior section. The creative read becomes Creative Recipes, the formats and moods the niche’s artists kept running longest, judged within each artist first so one heavy advertiser never becomes the niche’s answer. The EU and UK data becomes a map of where the niche pays to be seen.

On the artist page each ad opens to its fields, its placements and its creative read; the gallery sorts by days up, so the ads an artist kept paying for are first.

How to read these numbers

Days up is the signal
An ad that runs for months is one the artist kept paying for. Opah reports the days; it holds no spend or sales figure for anyone's ads.
Mood and format come from one frame
The creative read sees the image or one still of a video, so a label describes that frame, not the motion, sound or edit.

The other half: the numbers the ads moved

Every ad sits dated beside the same artist’s Spotify series and their posts, so a popularity peak or a listener spike can be read against the ad that started the week before. What the artists in your niche run, before you spend, is on the Meta ads for musicians page; the report breaks it down by genre.

Questions

More on the FAQ.

Can I see the Meta ads another artist is running?
Yes. Add the artist to Opah by name; it finds the artist's Facebook page, collects every ad the page has run since 2020, and refreshes the set every 72 hours, so you see which ads are still running and which were switched off. Opah's list price starts at $19 a month for 3 artists.
Does Opah show what another artist spent on an ad, or what it earned?
No spend, no results, no budget: Opah holds none of those for another artist's ads. It shows the format, the copy, the button, the destination, the placements and how long each ad kept running, and an ad an artist keeps paying for month after month is the one working for them. The one audience figure is Meta's own reach by country, age and gender, which Meta attaches only to ads delivered in the EU and the UK.
What does the creative read say about an ad?
Opah reads the image, or one still frame of a video, once: the format type, up to three moods from a fixed vocabulary of 146 terms in 19 families, the colours, whether a face is in frame, and whether text is overlaid. It does not watch the video.
Which placements does Opah record?
Facebook, Instagram, Threads, Messenger, WhatsApp and Audience Network, as Meta lists them per ad. An ad on several counts once on each.
What do the artists in my niche run?
That is the Meta ads for musicians page: the format mix, what the first line does, the button, where the click goes and when ads start around a release, measured on Opah's market panel of charting artists.
