YouTube: what Opah reads for any artist you add, every 72 hours

For any artist you add to Opah, yours included, Opah reads YouTube every 72 hours: subscribers, total views and video count for the artist’s own channel, and every recent video and Short with its title, views, duration, type and date. Links in the descriptions are classified by where they send people. The Topic channel is never mistaken for the artist.

$0.99 a month for your first 3 months on Opah Core, then $19. Cancel any time. Chartmetric is $60 a month for 10 artists; Opah is $19 for 3 or $39 for 10.

Views arrive every week; subscribers arrive in thousands

One artist’s channel gained 4.26M views between June and October from 19 uploads, and 17,000 subscribers. YouTube publishes the subscriber count rounded to three figures, so Opah keeps it as the stepped series it is and reads the exact view count beside it; the views say which week moved.

YouTube is also the platform the audience-against-output read was built for. One artist: 383,000 subscribers, 26% of their audience across the three platforms, and 1 upload in 90 days, 2% of their output. The audience is there and the posting is not. No single platform’s dashboard can show that, because each one only sees itself.

Instagram53% of audience · 44% of posts
TikTok21% of audience · 55% of posts
YouTube26% of audience · 2% of posts
One real artist, trailing 90 days, anonymised. YouTube holds 26% of the audience and gets 2% of the posts.

The YouTube read also carries a format mix (videos, Shorts, lives and premieres) and the organic funnel: every link in a description, classified by destination, so you can see where an artist sends people when no ad is paying for the click.

How it reads in the Niche Playbook

The same fields, read across the artists you study.

Subscribers and uploads join Audience vs Output for every artist in the niche, so a whole niche’s neglect of a platform shows as one gap. Cadence joins the Behavior section. The organic funnel sits beside the paid Spend Funnel the ads give, so the niche’s two sets of destinations read on one page.

The artist page keeps YouTube as one tab beside Instagram and TikTok, with the day of each read printed.

The other half: the paid funnel beside the organic one

The links an artist posts in descriptions are where they send people on their own time. The links in their Meta ads are where they send people when they pay. Opah classifies both the same way and prints them side by side, for one artist and for the niche.

Questions

More on the FAQ.

Can I see YouTube analytics for an artist that is not mine?
Yes. Add the artist to Opah by name; it finds the channel from the artist's own links, reads it and the recent videos and Shorts every 72 hours and keeps them. Nothing is connected. Opah's list price starts at $19 a month for 3 artists.
Which channel does Opah read, the artist's or the Topic channel?
The artist's own. YouTube generates a Topic channel for every artist with distributed music; it has no Videos or Shorts tab and nothing the artist posts. Opah tells the two apart and attaches the artist's channel only after confirming it from the artist's own links.
Does Opah read likes and comments on YouTube videos?
No. The channel read returns views, duration, type and date per video; likes and comments would need a read per video and are not collected. Engagement depth comes from TikTok (saves and shares) and Instagram (likes and comments).
What does Opah do with the links in video descriptions?
It classifies them by destination: a streaming service, a link page, tickets, a store, a sign-up, or the artist's own site. That is the organic funnel, where the artist sends people on their own time, beside the paid funnel the ads show.
How often do artists post on YouTube?
The median artist with a YouTube upload in the trailing 90 days posted 0.8 a week, across 38 artists tracked in Opah, Shorts included.
